Macomb Community College Holds Commencement

Macomb Community College will award nearly 1,100 associate degrees today during commencement exercises.

Macomb Community College will hold its 88th commencement at 2 p.m. today at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Center Campus.

The college will award nearly 1,100 associate degrees to summer and fall graduates.

Andrew Baker, 26, of Warren, is the Most Distinguished Graduate and commencement speaker. Baker, who is currently a production floor supervisor at an electronics manufacturing facility in Troy, is graduating with an associate degree in general studies with majors in secondary education-history and political science.

He has been accepted at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and will major in political science in January. He is interested in a career that focuses on human rights initiatives, with his dream job working at the United Nations, according to the college.
