Lakeview Student Wins Award During Auto Show Design Contest

A poster designed by a Lakeview senior will be displayed at the 2012 auto show Jan. 14-22.

With the eyes of the automotive world may be on Cobo Hall for the cars at the North American International Auto Show, one student from has received a top honor from the event for the poster she designed for the event.

Amber Koprin, a senior at Lakeview, won the Designer's Best of Show in the show's annual poster contest. She received $500 award.

Koprin used a wood cut that features downtown buildings, a classic car and the show logo.

Koprin said she was urged to enter the contest by her teacher Katie Schuur, and carved out the pattern with buildings, classic car and logo for the poster.

The 24th annual contest highlighted designs by hundreds of area high school students in grades 10 through 12. Winning posters will be displayed at the 2012 auto show.
