Lakeview Competes in Marching Band Championship
The Lakeview marching band performed "The Far East" for judges of the 2011 MCBA Championship on Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit. They placed 11th in their flight.
The 2011 MCBA Championship brought 48 bands—including the ones from and —from across Michigan to Ford Field on Saturday, to compete in the annual event.
Bands were divided into four flights, with each flight containing 12 performances. An awards ceremony was held after each flight and each band received either a plaque or a trophy, depending on their place.
Lakeview finished 11th in its flight, and South Lake placed 12th in its flight.

Trophies were also given for best music, best effect and best marching. Thousands of family members and fans streamed into Ford Field throughout the day, to cheer on their school and watch some of the best marching in Michigan.
