Lakeview Board of Education Seeking Applicants for Vacancy

The Lakeview Board of Education is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the body following the resignation of Michael McCain. 

Lakeview Public Schools is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Board of Education following the resignation Michael McCain following the Jan. 22 meeting.

Under state law, the person selected would serve through Dec. 31, 2014. An election will be held in Nov. 2014 to elect a board member to serve the remainder of McCain's term.

  • A written letter of interest indicating the applicant wants to become a Lakeview Board Member,
  • Submit a form from the district website with the appropriate information completed,
  • Any other supporting materials the candidate may wish to provide (resume, references, etc.),

Applications will be accepted through the close of business on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. According to the district website, the Board will consider all applicants and may conduct interviews of the candidates at a special meeting tentatively scheduled for Feb.18, or at their Regular Meeting on Feb. 19, 2013.

McCain was re-elected in 2011 to his position on the Board of Education.
