Lake Shore Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent

Mary Faley joins Lake Shore Public Schools as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services from Harper Creek Community Schools in Battle Creek.

Mary Faley recently joined as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. 

Faley comes to Lake Shore from Harper Creek Community Schools in Battle Creek, where she was the director of curriculum and assessment. Previously she served as K-12 curriculum director for both East China School District and Capac Community Schools.

She earned an education specialist degree in curriculum/central office administration from Saginaw Valley State University. Faley also served as an instructor at the university.

“As I researched Lake Shore in preparation for my interview, I was very impressed with the district," she said in a release. "The district has many positive programs in place; PLCs, the international partnerships, and innovative course offerings—just to name a few. I’ve become even more impressed as I’ve visited the buildings. There is a very strong sense of community and I’m very happy to be a part of it."

Faley is taking over for Tesha Thomas, who recently left the district after nearly eight years with Lake Shore.

Thomas will be joining the Macomb Intermediate School District as a secondary language arts consultant where she will work with all 21 Macomb County districts and assist them with middle and high school language arts curriculum.
