Kennedy Middle School Receives Automated External Defibrillator
Administrators from Kennedy Middle School were successful in obtaining a donated automated external defibrillator from the Wes Leonard Foundation.
Teachers and administrators at received a presentation Tuesday HeartAED on how to use the school's new automated external defibrillator.
Kennedy successfully obtained the defibrillator from the Wes Leonard Foundation, which is donating the device to the school.
The defibrillator will be placed near the gymnasium, and will be similar to one already located at the high school, according to Dave Kochan, Kennedy Middle School assistant principal.

"We want to be prepared if anything should happen," said Kochan.
The donation comes from the Wes Leonard Foundation, which is named after the 16-year-old West Michigan student who died after taking the game winning shot for his high school basketball team. The foundation donates the defibrillators to schools throughout the state.
