Huskies Win Soccer Districts

Lakeview finishes strong with district championship, but bows out to Lamphere in regionals.

Huskies are the Division II district champions.

Last week, the Lakeview girls soccer team Warren Woods-Tower 5-0, Regina 3-2 and Centerline 8-0 to take the title.

Although the Huskies were defeated by Lamphere on June 7 in the regional semifinal match, Lakeview varsity soccer coach Brooke Sweeney was pleased with her girls' dedication through the entire season.

"We were 6-13-2 overall in the tough, competitive white division," said Sweeney.  "Even though our record wasn’t the greatest, we played hard and made some great improvements along the way.  I am very proud of them for their hard work and dedication for this entire season."

Lakeview has won two districts titles and has made two trips to regionals during the past four years.

Senior Brooke Lawler will be attending University of Toledo next year on a soccer scholarship.
