Envisioning Food Resilience for Saint Clair Shores

Join Transition Saint Clair Shores for our second visioning session in a series of visioning sessions that will be held this year, taking a look at how we can make our city more resilient and sustainable.

During the month of March, Transition SCS is focusing on the issue of food. Where does our food come from? How is it grown? Are local farmers and local businesses reaping the economic benefits of food production? Is our current food system vulnerable to changes in oil prices,as well as natural and man made disasters?

What alternative can we envision for a local, sustainable and resilient food system that we can depend on. Many people know that local food is fresher, more nutritious and more economically beneficial to our locality. How can we connect more people in Saint Clair Shores with local food? What could be the benefits in terms of economic development, strengthening our community and helping people lead healthier lives?
