Court Brief: Hearing Rescheduled for Suspect in Embezzlement Case
A final pretrial hearing has been set for one of two women accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from a St. Clair Shores senior suffering from dementia.
A pre-trial hearing in Macomb Circuit Court was adjourned Monday for a 26-year-old Chesterfield Township woman charged with of dollars from an elderly St. Clair Shores man.
Kellie Todd and co-defendant Fredine Walker are caretakers accused of stealing more than a combined total of $80,000 from William Abke, a 73-year-old wheelchair-bound resident who is suffering from dementia.
Todd is charged with embezzlement of a vulnerable adult—a five-year felony.

Walker, who pleaded guilty to two counts of embezzlement of a vulnerable adult, was sentenced in March by Macomb Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto to a maximum of 10 years in prison for embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from an elderly St. Clair Shores man.
The home health care workers are alleged to have purchased thousands of items including groceries and furniture by using his credit cards.

Todd is free on $50,000 personal bond.
