What does your business offer? 

We offer affordable one on one in-home tutoring for students of all ages and all subjects. When people ask who we tutor, I tell them everyone! We have kids in first grade and adults who went back to college and every age in between. We help students gain confidence, improve organization and study skills and customize programs to help them to do whatever is their best. We also offer test prep help for the ACT/SAT/GED /GRE etc.. 

What's your most popular product or service? 

Tutoring... All ages and all subjects! 

What do you want your business to be best known for?

The short answer, helping families! We want to take the stress associated with homework/studying/school off parents' plates. Kids also have a lot on their plates these days and helping them improve skills and do better in school and get their work done faster and more efficiently helps the entire family in many ways. Helping students open doors for themselves via improved skills and confidence is what we are always striving for.

How did your business come to be? 

After many years managing various aspects of manufacturing, most recently with an automotive supplier, I wanted to make a change. It seemed a good time to start a business and I looked for opportunities where I could work with families and make a difference and Tutor Doctor of Metro Detroit was born. Tutor Doctor is an international company and the leading supplier of in-home supplemental education in North American. I could think of no better way to make a difference than to help students improve skills, do better in school and open door for themselves and for their futures.

Why did you choose the area you did?

As a former resident of St Clair Shores and current resident of Grosse Pointe Park, I have roots in this area and know the value we place on education. We love Metro Detroit. My wife and I have always been active in the community on a personal level and Tutor Doctor allowed me to be active as a business. Via the Macomb and Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce, The Family Center and school assoications, we participate at events and sponsor community and school programs. The main focus of the business is St Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods and we have families all over Metro Detroit too.
