St. Clair Shores Marina to Be Dredged

St. Clair Shores City Council recently approved the dredging of the channel leading into the Lac Ste. Claire Marina.

Boaters will have an easier time entering and exiting Lac Ste. Claire Marina after City Council approved the dredging of the channel leading into the facility.

Council approved spending up to $75,928 to Dean Marine and Excavating to remove dredge the channel.

"It is necessary to remove the sediment that has accumulated where the marina outlets to Lake St. Clair and to provide ingress and egress for boats," said John Chown, an engineer with Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick.

The build-up of sediment, and low water levels made it necessary to conduct the dredging.

Additionally, the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation Department will have a booth for the first time at the Spring Boating Expo in Novi to promote the amenities at Lac Ste. Claire and Blossom Heath marinas.
