Selfridge to Hold Siren Tests

People who live, work and visit in the area surrounding Selfridge Air National Guard Base may hear sirens between 9-11 a.m. Friday.

Selfridge Air National Guard Base airmen will conduct a series of tests from 9 - 11 a.m. Friday using a "giant voice" and siren system on the facility.

Base officials describe the “giant voice” as a series of outdoor loudspeakers on the base that can be used to notify personnel on the base of a variety of emergency situations.

The sirens and announcements may be heard by those who live, work and are visiting the area around Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
