Selfridge Airmen Continue to Serve During Shutdown

While planes at Selfridge Air National Guard Base did not fly during the federal government shutdown, aircraft deployed around the world continued their flying missions.

While the federal government shutdown led to the cancellation of air operations at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, units from the Macomb County military facility deployed around the world continued to fly.

The Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System posted a video of a KC-135R Stratotanker from Selfridge refueling A-10 Warthogs over Afghanistan. The video was shot Oct. 2.
