On the Agenda: Flood Insurance Hearing and Brownfield Plan

State Rep. Anthony Forlini holds hearing and informational meeting on flood insurance; St. Clair Shores City Council to consider brownfield plan for a former bowling alley.

Flood Map and Insurance Meeting

State Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, will host a meeting Monday to help waterfront residents understand flood maps and flood insurance.

Forlini will be joined by U.S. Rep. Candice Miller along with a work group from the House Committee on Natural Resources, Tourism and Recreation chaired by Rep. Frank Foster, R-Pellston.

Residents will be able to learn about the history of flood events and water levels in Lake St. Clair, flood mapping  and expected changes that may affect residents. Additionally, there will be testimony from federal and state government agencies.

The meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mac and Rays Banquet Conference Center, 30675 North River Road, in Harrison Township.

City Council to Meet

St. Clair Shores City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday and will consider approval of the contract with Fire Fighters Local 1744 and a brownfield plan for a former bowling alley on Harper north of Nine Mile. According to a plan filed with the city, the "functionally obsolete" bowling alley would be demolished and the property would be made ready for development. Members of the St. Clair Shores Unified High School Hockey Team will also be honored for winning the .
