MDOT to Conduct Light and Sign Replacement on I-94

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday it will conduct weekend and overnight sign and light replacement on I-94 in Detroit and Harper Woods.

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday it will begin replacing freeway lights and overhead signs on Interstate 94 in Detroit and Harper Woods in mid-October.

The $3.8 million project will include a moving the poles from the top of the median barrier wall to the freeway slopes and replacing overhead signs along a five-mile stretch of the expressway between French Road and Eight Mile in Detroit and Harper Woods, according to a release.

Work will be conducted on weekends and overnight during the week and will include lane restrictions and intermittent ramp closures. The project should be completed in May 2013, according to MDOT.
