Flu Shots Now Available

The Macomb County Health Department is now offering seasonal flu shots.

The Macomb County Health Department is now offering the seasonal flu vaccine for three different viruses: H3N2 virus, influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus.

The vaccines are available at locations in , Mount Clemens and Warren.

Although last year's flu shot protected against the same viruses, a person's immune protection declines over time, according to a release from the Macomb County Health Department.

Hours and locations of the clinics offering flu vaccines include:

  • , 25401 Harper Ave., St. Clair Shores. Open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mon, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tue - Fri.
  • Mount Clemens Health Center, 43525 Elizabeth Road, Mount Clemens. Open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Mon - Tue and Thu - Fri.
  • Southwest Health Center, 27690 Van Dyke Ave., Warren. Open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thu; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri.

The vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months and older.

There is a $15 charge for each vaccination. Cash and checks are accepted, debit and credit cards are not accepted.

Children under 19-years-old who do not have insurance coverage for the flu vaccine can receive the shot for $8.
