Rusie to Face Roberts for Michigan's 18th House District Race in November

Republican Candice Rusie and former State Rep. Sarah Roberts will vie for the newly created house district in November.

Former State Rep. will attempt to regain a seat in the Michigan House of Representatives in the November general election after beating out three other Democratic contenders in Tuesday's Democratic primary.

Roberts, who served in the Michigan House from 2008-2010, will face Candice Rusie, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary. According to unofficial results, Roberts defeated Democratic candidates Patrick Biange, Phillip A DiMaria and John M. Maynard.

Rusie is currently serving on her first term on St. Clair Shores City Council.

The two candidates are running in the newly created , which includes St. Clair Shores and Eastpointe. St. Clair Shores is currently in the 24th District, which includes Harrison Township and St. Clair Shores. Current State Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, is running in a district that includes Harrison and Clinton townships.
