City Council called to order with a standing room only audience.

City manager Ben Hughes states that as many as 13 vehicles were on the streets of the Shores to clear the recent snow.

7:15 p.m.

City Council honors the undefeated girls basketball team from Kennedy Middle School.

7:45 p.m.

EPA addresses council and informs the city PCBs found in 10 Mile Canal. Crews may come in as early as this weekend to remove sediment. EPA also planning larger sampling effort with a mobile lab to test samples from the canal in late April. Community meetings planned.

8 p.m.

Kroger gives overview of proposed gas station on 9 Mile at Alice. Residents have spoken out against the project.

8:15 p.m.

Kroger representatives complete their presentation. Councilwoman Candice Rusie first to speak and shares her reasoning against the rezoning of land on 9 Mile at Alice for gas station.

"I am not going to be business friendly while being resident unfriendly," she said.

8:24 p.m.

Motion by Candice Rusie, second by Kip Walby, to deny the motion to rezone property on 9 Mile for a Kroger gas station. Discussion follows.

8:37 p.m.

Council votes 4-1 to reject a rezoning request of property on 9 Mile to allow a Kroger gas station.

8:39 p.m.

Liz Koto, city planner, states the city got 14 bids on eight of the nine Neighborhood Stabilization Program renovated homes.

9:00 p.m.

Council now considering the bids on each of the homes in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program homes.

9:33 p.m.

Council approves the sale of eight  Neighborhood Stablization Program homes.

10:41 p.m.

Mayor Robert Hison announces that he will be retiring at the end of his term in November. Council now goes into closed session.
