Additional Lane to Closures Planned for I-94

I-94 will have additional lane closures in the coming weeks.

Crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation are scheduled to close the left lane of eastbound I-94 from 11 Mile Road to Masonic Boulevard at 6 a.m. Tuesday as part of the ongoing resurfacing project.

The lane closures are need to allow crews to complete utility upgrades, according to MDOt. 

Starting July 15, the right lane of westbound I-94 will be closed from Masonic Boulevard to 11 Mile Road, MDOT reported.

The eastbound lane closure is expected to be removed in late July. The  westbound restriction is expected to remain in place until mid-September, according to a release from MDOT. 

There will be no additional lane closures on I-94 during peak travel times, but additional lanes and ramps may be closed during off-peak hours on weekdays and at any time on weekends, MDOT reports.

The $20 million project is expected to completed in October.
