9 Mile Construction Project Underway

Work started Monday on the 9 Mile water main and repaving project between I-94 and Harper.

The eastbound lanes of 9 Mile between I-94 and Harper were closed Monday for a road constitution and water main installation project.

Businesses along the roadway are open, and detours are posted.

Fresard – Water Main

The project has been completed expect for punch list items.  Contractor hydro-seeded the lawn areas today 7-17-13

Maxine Street – Water Main

The water main is work is complete.  The road reconstruction portion has been with the removal of the trees that needed to be removed.

Detour Street – Water Main

Concrete work was completed yesterday.  The contractor will be spraying the weeds in the final grade prior to hydro-seeding the lawns.

Hydro-seeding expected to be completed by the week ending July 26.

Talbot Street – Water Main

Concrete restoration has begun with the completion of the sidewalk restoration.  Driveway approaches and adjacent sidewalk work to follow.

Once the concrete work is completed the damaged lawn areas will be prepped for hydro-seeding.

11 Mile Road – Water Main

Project complete expect for punch list items.

Edgewater Street– Water Main

Water main installation complete.  A few areas of concrete restoration is needed.  Balance of concrete work and lawn restoration will be coordinate with Port Street Water Main project.

Port Street – Water Main

Contractor completing installation of the water main today 7-17-13.  The main will be filled, chlorinated and tested.  Once this phase is complete the contractor will begin transferring the service lines from the old main to the new main.

Paving Projects

Bayview

Trees removed in preparation for the project.  Crews to begin removal of the existing pavement on Monday, July 22, 2013, weather depending.

Maxine (Alice to Greater Mack)

Trees removed in preparation of the project.  Construction expected to begin after Bayview.

Kipling Street (Edgewood to Englehardt)

Trees removed in preparation of the project. Construction expected to begin coincide with Maxine project.

Thirteen Mile Road

Road open to traffic.  Cleanup of miscellaneous construction sign/parts remaining.
