32 File for One Council Seat in St. Clair Shores

A mix of former candidates, elected officials and others have applied for the open seat on St. Clair Shores City Council.

Residents waited until the last moment Monday to submit their applications in for the , two-year seat on City Council.

The applicants are vying to fill the seat left vacant following the as the new mayor of St. Clair Shores.

Mayoral candidates Karla Anderon and Nathan Kaczmarek, whom Walby defeated, filed for the seat. Also filing were Patrick Biange, John Burtch, Enrique Castro, Jack Downey and Charles Hall, who were unsuccessful in their bids this year for seats on City Council.

Former county commissioner and 40th District Court Judge William Crouchman and former city councilwoman Erin Stahl also submitted applications for the seat.

The mayor and current members of City Council will narrow the field on Dec. 5, and finalists will give presentations on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Mayor and council will then select one person to fill the open seat at the meeting on Monday, Dec. 19.
