U.S. Coast Guard Rescues Four on Lake St. Clair

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four people Saturday from a boat taking on water in Lake St. Clair near the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four people Saturday whose boat taking on water in Lake St. Clair.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office contacted Coast Guard Sector Detroit at 1:40 p.m. Saturday that a 23-foot boat with three adults and one child was taking on water in Lake St. Clair, near the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station St. Clair Shores launched a rescue boat, and when the crew arrived on scene, the four people were taken aboard and the boat was towed to the Island Harbor Marina, according to a release.

The boaters' names are not being released, and there were no reported injuries.
