St. Clair Shores Police Officer Reportedly Involved in Armed Robbery of Civilians

A sergeant from the St. Clair Shores Police Department was allegedly involved in an armed robbery, and assault, in Detroit.

A St. Clair Shores police sergeant was reportedly involved in armed robberies of civilians, according to a report in The Detroit Free Press.

According to the story, a sergeant from the Detroit and St. Clair Shores police departments were allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a gas station in Detroit.

WJBK-TV is reporting the officer from St. Clair Shores is 17-year veteran of the department. According to the report by the television station, the men had police badges, bullet proof vests and guns. They were also allegedly involved in an incident at Harper and 3 Mile Drive where a driver had his wallet and CDs stolen by three men in an unmarked Crown Victoria, the report added.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig will reportedly discuss details about the arrests of the sergeants Monday at a press conference.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has received a warrant request for a St. Clair Shores officer, and a Detroit Police Department officer, according to Maria Miller, the spokesperson for office. She said in an email that a warrant request is being reviewed, and a charging decision is not expected today.
