St. Clair Shores Police Investigate Marina Assault, Pharmacy Theft and Stolen Gun

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Traffic stop yields stolen gun

An officer on patrol Aug. 14 observed a Yukon with a burned out license plate light on I-94 at the I-696 ramp. When officers searched the vehicle, officers found a stolen handgun. Officers arrested the driver, a 42-year-old Eastpointe resident, for possession of stolen property, two counts concealed weapon violations and misdemeanor arrest warrant.

A 46-year-old Roseville man was arrested Aug. 10 after he reportedly assaulted a 44-year-old Eastpointe woman in Island Harbor Marina. Officers were called to the marina for a report of a woman pounding on the windows of a boat docked in the marina. While en route, officers received an update that the woman was hit in the head with a pole. When officers arrived, they found the woman had a cut above her eye. Witnesses reported the woman was banging on the windows of the boat yelling for the man. They then got in an argument, and the man reportedly picked up a metal boat hook and struck the woman. The force of the hit knocked her into the lake. The man fled, and was found hiding in the pool house of the marina.

St. Clair Shores police made a pair of arrests Aug. 11 at the CVS Pharmacy at 27700 Harper. Officers were called for a person in the store who was a suspect in multiple thefts at the store. The 57-year-old Detroit resident was arrested. As police were investigating this case, a 24-year-old Utica woman was reportedly observed stealing items. 

The woman placed items in her cart, and walked out of the store without paying. She was stopped and patted down. As an officer attempted to place her in handcuffs, she resisted and tried to run before finally being detained. The woman was stopped, and found with items including a crack pipe, wipes, cotton swabs, feminine items, gel, aloe, lip balm and cologne. She was arrested for retail fraud, possession of narcotic equipment, resisting an officer, obstructing police and on an outstanding warrant.
