St. Clair Shores Police Assist in Multi-State Investigation

St. Clair Shores police assisted the Macomb Sheriff’s Office in arresting one of two men who were involved in home invasions in Ohio and was found in Michigan.

Investigators in Macomb recently received a call from authorities in Huron County, Ohio, who were investigating "a rash" of home invasions, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office. Detectives in Ohio were able to develop information that the suspects were now in the Mount Clemens area.

Working with detectives from Ohio, Macomb County officials located the suspects' vehicle Thursday in the parking lot of the Victory Inn in Mount Clemens, but the men had fled the hotel before the arrival of law enforcement personnel.

As they searched for the men, a pick-up was reported stolen from Labelle Electric Company in Macomb Township. Using a GPS tracking system, parking lot video security system and traffic cameras, officers were able to locate the Dodge Ram pickup truck on westbound I-94.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies and the St. Clair Shores police stopped the vehicle near 9 Mile. The man that was arrested is one of the individuals from Huron County Ohio.

The second individual was just arrested by Macomb Sheriff’s Deputies on 21 Mile Road just east of North Ave. He was alone when apprehended and on foot.
