The St. Clair Shores Police Department has a new deputy chief.

Todd Woodcox, a 21-year veteran of the department, recently was appointed to the position.

"I am humbled to be appointed to a position in what I believe to be the best police department in the state of Michigan," said Woodcox. "My goal is to earn the trust of the citizens that have supported this department."

During his career, Woodcox has served as detective, detective sergeant and lieutenant. He takes the position previously held by Glenn Bowlin, who retired in September, according to a story in The Sentinel
