Dispose Unwanted Medication in a Bin at the St Clair Shores Police Station

The St. Clair Shores Police has a drug return box located in the lobby of the police department for residents to dispose of unwanted medication.

Residents who want to safely dispose of unused, expired and unwanted, medications can now bring the items to the St. Clair Shores Police Department for safe disposal.

According to Kevin Kimm, St. Clair Shores Police community resource officer, residents can bring the medications to a return box in the police station lobby 24 hours a day.

The only medications accepted are pills, which need to be removed from the containers, and placed in clear baggies with "medications for disposal" written on the outside.

Residents can pull a handle on the bin, and place the items into bin anonymously. The medications will be properly disposed.

"It has been in place since November and we have already collected over 55 pounds," Kimm said. "We hope this is a good benefit for our residents."
