St. Clair Shores Man ID'd in Fatal Nebraska Accident
Nebraska State Patrol identify Shores resident who was killed in an accident March 30.
The Nebraska State Patrol identified Wednesday a 52-year-old St. Clair Shores man as the driver of a semi-trailer truck who was killed in a fatal crash last month.
Michael A. Wiechert was killed March 30 when the truck he was driving struck the rear of a tanker truck near Dunbar, NE. The impact caused Wiechert’s truck, which was hauling clothing and paper products, to catch fire. He died at the scene.
Nebraska officials requested Wiechert's dental records to make a positive identification.
The driver of the second truck, a tanker, received non-life threatening injuries, according to a release from Deb Collins, Nebraska State Patrol spokesperson.
