St. Clair Shores firefighters extinguished a blaze on a sailboat Tuesday in Island Harbor Marina.

St. Clair Shores firefighters used newly purchased floating water pumps to extinguish a blaze aboard a sailboat in Island Harbor Marina.

The pumps, purchased with a Department of Homeland Security grant, were placed in a well next to the boat and provided a water source to fire crews.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The fire was contained to just one vessel.
