Shores Police Investigate Serious Accident

Two passengers were thrown from a car early Monday morning.

A 7-year-old boy is in serious condition after the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe early Monday morning. 

St. Clair Shores police are investigating the serious accident about 2:30 a.m. at 10 Mile and Harper.

The vehicle carrying the child was traveling northbound on Harper when it was struck by the SUV that allegedly ran a red light as it traveled westbound on 10 Mile.

The force of the impact caused the child and an adult woman to be ejected from the vehicle. The woman was not seriously injured.

The unidentified driver of the Tahoe was hospitalized, and police are awaiting results of blood tests to seek charges, St. Clair Shores Police Lt. Tom Willette said.
