Senior Embezzler Sentenced

A 26-year-old charged with embezzling funds from a St. Clair Shores senior plead no contest and was sentenced in Macomb Circuit Court.

A 26-year-old Chesterfield Township plead no contest Thursday to in Macomb Circuit Court.

Kellie Todd plead no contest before Judge Matthew Switalski to embezzlement from a vulnerable adult between $200-$1,000. She was sentenced to 12 months probation.

Todd and co-defendant Fredine Walker were caretakers accused of stealing more than a combined total of $80,000 from William Abke, a wheelchair-bound resident who is suffering from dementia. Investigators alleged they purchased thousands of dollars worth of items, including groceries and furniture, by using his credit cards.
