St. Clair Shores Police are urging residents to be aware of their surroundings when leaving, or returning, home from work or shopping following a strong-arm robbery Jan. 22 in the 20200 block of Shady Lane.

A 39-year-old resident reported that about 5 p.m. he was returning home from work and observed a white van behind his vehicle. He pulled into his driveway and parked to remove groceries from his car.

When he exited his car a 20-year-old man, with braided hair and a medium build, about 5-feet 8-inches tall and 160 pounds, was standing at his patio with a second 20-year-old man, described as 5-feet 8-inches tall, about 250 pounds with an Afro approached him. They told him to give them "everything you have."

The resident said he didn't have anything, and began to back away. The suspects told him to get into his car and he refused, and threw his wallet and took off running, according to a police report.

One of the suspects took the wallet, and got into the van driven by a third male. No weapon was implied or shown, the report stated. The victim's wallet was found later with the cash missing.
