Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Armed Robbery of Salon

Police released a sketch of one of two men who reportedly robbed the Exodus Salon in the middle of the day Thursday, and forced customers and employees into a room. The men are also suspected in at least two other similar robberies in metro Detroit.

St. Clair Shores is believed to be the latest community where a pair of armed men have robbed a salon in the middle of the day.

Two men matching the description of earlier robberies in metro Detroit are believe to have robbed the on Thursday.

The men, described as a 6-foot tall black or Hispanic male with long wavy hair and a 5-foot, 10-inch tall black male wearing a pink polo shirt and hat, reportedly walked into the salon on Harper Avenue just after noon.

After initially asking about hair treatments, one of the men announced it was a "robbery" and pointed a revolver at a woman and demanded to know where the purses were kept.

They then took cash from the nine women, all customers or employees, who then were moved into a massage room at the salon. The women were told to count to 100 while the suspects fled. A witness believes they fled in a white car.

Police arrived and were able to locate the women in the room.

The robberies are similar to one that occurred Aug. 14 in Warren and Aug. 15 in Oak Park. In those robberies, the men fled in SUV-type vehicle.
