Police Investigate Tire Thief, Business Break-in and Watch Thief

The following information was supplied by the St. Clair Shores police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tire thief

A witness contacted police on Oct. 20 to report that three men were trying to steal wheels from a car at Don Gooley Cadillac. When the witness pulled up, the three males went under the chain fence and into a mini-van. As the van pulled away, a 23-year-old Detroit resident fell out of the vehicle. According to a police report, the mini-van continued to flee and the man ran toward a nearby business. When police arrived, they found two cinder blocks next to the Cadillac and the tires had no lugnuts. A short time later, police received a call about a man who was sweaty and asked, "which way to Detroit?" Officers were able to locate the man, and arrest him.
