Police Investigate Stolen Baby Formula, Gun in Car

Gun found during traffic stop

St. Clair Shores Police stopped a Taurus Oct. 30 driven by a 30-year-old Taylor man after seeing on the car weave in and out of traffic on I-94. After checking the license, officers found that the driver had seven current suspensions and multiple warrants. The vehicle exited onto 8 Mile, and made a wide right turn. The officer stopped the car and asked the driver if he had anything illegal, and he said just a pocket knife. The driver was arrested for a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. While searching the car, officers found a semi-automatic handgun under the passenger seat. According to a report, the gun was registered to him, but his concealed pistol license was suspended in 2008.

Two St. Clair Shores residents were arrested Oct. 30 after they allegedly tried to steal baby formula from the Kroger on 9 Mile. According to a report, a loss prevention officer observed a 33-year-old man, and 27-year-old woman,who were taking security tags off baby formula and placing them in cart next to a purse. They then placed the cans in the purse, and left the store without paying. They were arrested for retail fraud.
