Police Investigate Rug Stolen, Fight Over Alleged Stolen Underwear and Good Samaritan Assualt

Rug theft

Employees of Plato's Closet reported a man stole a rug, with the business logo, Sept. 16. According to a police report, a couple attempted to sell some clothing at the store and was called later in the day to pickup the items. The man returned later in the day, and kicked a box of items toward the door. When he got to the rug, he rolled it up and left the store. He then placed the box of clothes, and rug, in a green mini-van and left the scene.

Police were called Sept. 15 to a home in the 20900 block of Sunnydale for a reported assault. A 23-year-old resident reported that she had been in an text argument with her 20-year-old roommate who alleged that she stole her underwear. When the 23-year-old returned home, she was confronted by her roommate who struck her. Officers observed the face of the 23-year-old had swelling and arrested her roommate for assault.

Police were called Sept. 15 after a person reportedly punched out the window of a car near Cubberness and Frazho. A 16-year-old man reportedly saw a young female fighting with a male in the yard in near the intersection. He stopped and asked if there was anything wrong, and the man asked if the driver was there to pick up the girl. The driver reported that the man tried to open the driver side door, and punched the window. He then went to the passenger side window, punched and shattered the window. The man was wearing a black tank top, dark hair and facial hair.
