Police Investigate Gas Station Armed Robbery

The following information was supplied by the St. Clair Shores police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

St. Clair Shores Police are investigating an armed robbery of the Shell Gas Station at 20725 10 Mile about 8:18 p.m. Sept. 7.

According to a release from the police, a man approached the cashier counter to make a purchase and pulled a knife from a plastic bag and demanded the employee open the cash register.

When the employee had difficulty opening the register, the suspect went around the counter and again demanded money, according to investigators.

He got away with an undetermined amount of cash, and fled from the station.

The suspect, who is in his late 20s to early 30s, has short brown hair and is about 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 9 inches tall, was last observed wearing an unknown baseball cap, polo shirt and “washed” front  jeans.

Investigators believe the suspect may have been involved in an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in Clinton Township.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who can identify the suspect from a Michigan State Police sketch,
is asked to call the St. Clair Shores Police Department at (586) 445-5300.
