Police Charge St. Clair Shores Man With Filing a False Police Report

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

A 31-year-old St. Clair Shores man is free on personal bond after he was arraigned Wednesday on charges of filing a false police report.

Nathan Bartley allegedly called police April 10 to report that he was the victim of an armed robbery in a parking lot on 9 Mack Drive. He told police that the men who allegedly robbed him fled from the parking lot. As officers searched the area, a dance studio was placed on lockdown.

After further investigation, officers were able to determine the report was false.

Bartley, who does not have a criminal history, could face four years in prison in or a $2,000 fine if convicted.
