Police Brief: Suspect in Grosse Pointe-St. Clair Shores Break-ins to be Arraigned
A 21-year-old Eastpointe man charged in a series of Grosse Pointe Farms break-ins may be arraigned Wednesday St. Clair Shores. Investigators say he may be linked to robberies in the City of Grosse Pointe.
A 21-year-old Eastpointe man charged in a series of may be arraigned as early as Wednesday in St. Clair Shores on home invasion charges.
St. Clair Shores police allege Rudy VanDenbroeck was involved in a April 24 break-in of a condominium on Woodbridge. He was arraigned on four counts of home invasion Friday in Grosse Pointe District Court and is being held on $100,000 bond in the Wayne County Jail.
Detectives are also working to determine if he was involved in any break-ins in the City of Grosse Pointe.

VanDenbroeck was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday in Eastpointe, after following a number of leads, including speaking with his father, who lives in Grosse Pointe Shores.

VanDenbroeck was sweeping out the garage at his home when police arrived and arrested him. Officers found crack cocaine, a crack pipe along with gold coins, and a necklace that investigators believe was stolen from a home in Grosse Pointe Farms, according to police reports.
Officers also found credit cards in his pockets from a separate Grosse Pointe Farms break-in.
Investigators allege that VanEndbroeck was stealing from homes to fuel his $1,000-a-day crack habit.
