Police Blotter: Uncooperative Dog Owner Jailed
The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Clair Shores police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Dog Day Afternoon
St. Clair Shores police assisted an animal control officer Tuesday afternoon who was trying to apprehend a pit bull in the 20200 block of Gaukler. The animal control officer saw the dog on a porch without a tether and supervision and determined the dog did not have a valid license. As the animal control officer attempted to put his noose around the neck of the pit bull, the dog's 21-year-old owner interceded. A police officer attempted to assist the animal control officer, but was allegedly subject to a profanity-laced rant from Warren Sampler. It was not until a second police officer arrived that Sampler let go of the dog, but he was arrested for interfering with a police officers, disturbing the peace, dog-at-large and an unlicensed dog, according to reports. Sampler is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $25,000 bond.

A 30-year-old woman with short hair and a thin build who was wearing a white shirt and down vest is alleged to have hidden the items in her vest before fleeing the store. A second woman, about 25-30 years old and wearing a striped shirt, left the store with the first woman. Both fled in a silver Impala. Police are investigating.
