Police Blotter: Officers Investigate Theft of Metal and Items in Cars

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Items Stolen from Cars

Police are investigating reports of items stolen from cars including:

  • A GPS from a home in the 28300 block of Manhattan on July 26.
  • A portable satellite radio and baseball equipment from a vehicle in the 21100 block of Gordon on July 26.
  • A pair of prescription sunglasses was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 21900 block of Bradfords Ct. on July 27.

Charcoal Stolen

Police are investigating a report that charcoal and a fan were stolen July 26 from the Kroger store on 9 Mile. According to a police report, a store employee observed a man with blonde hair, about 30 years old, take a bag of charcoal and fan from the front lobby of the store. He fled in a green pickup.

Metal Stolen

Police are investigating the theft of metal from homes, a business and a vehicle including:

  • A catalytic converter was reportedly stolen from vehicle in the 800 block of North Shore on July 27.
  • Copper piping was stolen from the basement and air conditioning unit from a home in the 21400 block of Timberidge on July 27.
  • Metal valves, pipes and pieces of scrap from a storage shed at were reported stolen on July 28. 

Work Vehicle Vandalized

Police were called to a construction site at 11 Mile and Little Mack for a report of two valve stems that were removed from the tires of a backhoe used in the paving project.
