Police Blotter: Officers Investigate Tailgate Thefts
The following information was supplied by the St. Clair Shores police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Police are investigating a series of tailgate thefts in the city.
Residents reported five separate incidents in the early morning hours of Jan. 16 near Martin and I-94.
St. Clair Shores Police Lt. Timothy Keelan believes the tailgates may have been stolen for scrap.

The tailgates were stolen in these areas:
- 28300 block of Joan.
- 20400 block of Martin.
- 19800 block of Scarsdale (two incidents).
- 28500 block of Beste.
Keelan recommends residents lock the tailgate of their pickup trucks to protect their vehicles.
