Police Blotter: Counterfeit Bills, Gas Drive-off Investigated

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores police department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Counterfiet bills

St. Clair Shores police were called May 2 after a 21-year-old Grosse Pointe Park resident attempted to pay for her gas at that the at 23800 Jefferson. The woman denied knowledge of the counterfeit bill, and believes she may have received it from another business. She paid for the gas with her credit card, and police are investigating.

Police are also investigating a report of four possibly counterfeit $20 bills passed at Taco Bell.

Furnace stolen

A furnace was reported stolen May 2 from a vacant home in the 19800 block of Avalon.

Gas drive-off

Police are investigating a report of a male between 18- and 20-years-old, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with short afro, who pumped 11 gallons at the gas station May 2 and left without paying. He was seen driving a white Nissan Sentra with Pennsylvania license plates.

Window broken

A resident in the 23100 block of Brookdale reported May 2 that someone threw a rock through the window of his home. A neighbor reported seeing three teens running from the home.

Rocks thrown at parked vehicles

The owner of Preferred Filter Recycling at 33195 Harper reported May 3 that numerous rocks were thrown at parked vehicles.

Home invasion

An 81-year-old resident in the 28300 block of Rosebriar reported May 3 that someone kicked in the door and ransacked the home. The resident reported that jewelry may have been stolen.
