Police Blotter: Flowers Picked from Market

Officers investigate the theft of flowers, drinking and in-line skating, and an assault and battery incident in St. Clair Shores.

Please Don't Take the Daisies

An officer patrolling Harper early Sunday morning saw a van speeding from Village Market. The van was stopped and the officer noticed flowers in the van. The 40-year-old St. Clair Shores resident stated that he had the items for some time, although the flowers were still wet from an evening rain. The man was arrested for larceny. The investigation continues.

Alleged Assault

Police were called to the 29000 block of Taylor on Monday for a report of an accident. The driver of a pickup that allegedly struck another car was allegedly threatening witnesses with a trailer hitch. Officers were able to arrest the 18-year-old St. Clair Shores resident for assault and a probation violation. Police continue to investigate.

Officers are investigating a report of an assault and theft early Monday morning at the Beach Grill. A 26-year-old Macomb Township resident reported that he was punched outside of the restaurant by a group of males who allegedly took his wristwatch. Police are investigating.

Drinking and In-Line Skating

An 18-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was arrested early Monday morning after officers observed the man near Gaffke and Ursuline in-line skating while carrying a beer bottle. Officers attempted to stop him, but he fled into Gaffke Park where he was arrested for resisting an officer and minor in possession. 

Car Break-Ins

Police are investigating a pair of car break-ins during the early morning hours Sunday in the Chapoton Apartments. Two residents reported that the driver's side door was broken to gain access to the trunk. One resident reported that she had her book bag stolen.
