Police Blotter: Driver Mistakenly Drives to Canada, Diners Leave Without Paying Bill

Driver didn't know she was in Canada

A 26-year-old St. Clair Shores resident didn't know where she was when she crossed the Blue Water Bridge into Canada, according to a story in the St. Catherine's Standard.  Cassandra Rose Olbrys plead guilty Monday to driving drunk Sept. 16. According to the story, she thought she was in Detroit after crossing the Blue Water Bridge into Canada. Breath tests showed she had been driving drunk, and was fined $1,500 in Sarnia court.

Teens arrested for writing in fresh cement

A pair of 14-year-old St. Clair Shores teens allegedly damaged a freshly laid cement sidewalk Sept. 25 in the 22000 block of Frazho, police said. The teen boys wrote vulgarities in the sidewalk, according to police reports. The boys were released to their parents.

Reported home invasion

A resident in the 28400 block of Jefferson reported an attempted home invasion Sept. 24, according to police. The suspect attempted to pry the door open, according to reports.

Dirt bike stolen

A resident in the 22000 block of Madison reported to police Sept. 24 that a 2002 Yamaha dirt bike was stolen from a trailer.

Unpaid restaurant bill

Employees of Shogun reported Sept. 21 two people left without paying a nearly $70 restaurant and bar bill, according to police.

A 35-year-old woman, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 190 pounds, and a 35-year-old male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 145 pounds with a scraggly beard, ordered a variety of dishes and drinks before leaving the restaurant and fleeing in a Dodge Caravan, police said.
