Police Blotter: Belligerent Customer at Coffee Shop

Belligerent customer arrested

A 68-year-old St. Clair Shores man was arrested March 7 after he became belligerent in . Officers were on patrol when they were flagged down by individuals. When they entered the restaurant, they found two men holding down Thomas Hartley, who was yelling obscenities at patrons. He then directed his anger toward the officers and allegedly told them that he was going to kill them. The customer is alleged to have ordered a quiche and left without paying. He then returned to the restaurant and began yelling at customers and striking the owner of the Caffe Far Bella. He was arrested and charged with felonious assault, assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly person. He is free on personal bond as he awaits his next court date.

Police were called to the on Harper on March 7 for an attempted breaking and entering. The manager noticed pry marks around the deadbolt lock. The suspect was unable to gain entry into store.

Catalytic converters stolen

Police are investigating the theft of a catalytic converter March 7 from a car owned by nun at . 

A 22-year-old Chesterfield Township resident reported on March 8 that a catalytic converter from her vehicle why she was working at a on Harper.

Idenity stolen

A 46-year-old resident reported March 8 that someone had opened a PayPal account in his name and made two purchase for $1,500. PayPal put a stop on his purchases and is investigating the matter.

Drunk and disorderly

A 29-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was arrested March 8 for disorderly conduct after police were called to Marathon gas station on Harper. When police arrived, they found the woman in the backseat of a car. Once she exited the car, the woman, who had slurred speech and blood-shot eyes, became belligerent with officers and was arrested. The woman will be arraigned on April 26.
