Police blotter: Beer Thief and Landscaping Dumping

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Landscaping material dumped

A resident on the 28900 block of Hughes reported that on Aug. 1 she found a large brush pile in her driveway. The five-foot tall pile covered the width of the driveway.

Employees of the on Harper reported that about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 1 a man pushed a cart with three cases of beer out of the store. He is then alleged to have thrown the beer in a two-door silver car and fled.

Coin box theft

Police are searching for two men who allegedly stole money from coin boxes at games at about 12:30 p.m. July 29. The men are alleged to have entered the restaurant and opened the coin box of a dart machine and removed the coins as a second man blocked the view of others. They did the same thing to a second machine before fleeing in a four-door Cadillac with a large dent on the drivers side door.

Beauty items stolen

A couple who posed as a blind man and a female companion are alleged to have stolen beauty items from the on Harper. The couple is alleged to have entered the store about 2 p.m. July 30. The man, in his 50s with partially gray hair, walked in with white cane and dark sunglasses. The woman, who was in her 20s and was wearing a red do-rag with a white tank top and multicolored shorts, are alleged to have taken suntan lotion, body wash, eyelash extensions and make-up before exiting the store and fleeing in a Pontiac Grand Am.

Broken window

A resident in the 21300 block of Timberidge reported on July 31 that a swan planter was thrown through the front window of their home. The planter was taken from a neighbor's porch. The suspect is alleged to have also tried to take a concrete eagle statue from the neighbor's home, but it was chained to the porch.
