Police Blotter: Bar Fight and Cars Broken Into on Elmdale

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Bar fight

Police were called to the in the early morning hours of Oct. 2 for a fight in progress. Police report that a 32-year-old man from Warren was dancing with his wife when another woman started "bumping" into him. The husband of the unknown woman is alleged to have gotten into a fight with the Warren man. As the two men "wrestled," the mother of the Warren man approached the fight and was removed by a bouncer. Police are investigating.

Theft and attempted break-in

Officers responded to for two incidents on Sept. 26. A 28-year-old Detroit resident called police about 8 p.m. after his wallet was stolen from his gym locker. Police responded about 5 p.m. after a 44-year-old Roseville resident reported seeing a man about 18-years-old, 6-feet, 1-inch tall, 160 pounds with a short black Afro attempting to break into his car. When the car owner approached, the man fled from the parking lot.

Three homeowners on Elmdale reported someone entered vehicles in the early morning hours of Sept. 26. Two residents reported that that their glove boxes were opened and contents were dumped on the floor. A third homeowner reported that electronics and a case of cigarettes were stolen from their vehicles.

Clothes swap

A 29-year-old Detroit resident was arrested Sept. 28 after he is alleged to have taken black hoodie, jeans, earrings and a watch from Sept. 28. Store security detained him after he left the store without paying, and when police arrived, he was uncooperative with officers. Marvin Bell is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $5,000 bond on retail fraud and obstructing justice charges.

Liquor theft

A 50-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was arrested Sept. 30 after she allegedly tried to steal liquor from the on Greater Mack. Irene Karmey is alleged to have placed a bottle of Jagermeister in her purse and attempted to walk out of the store without paying. She is arrested for retail fraud and is being held on a warrant out of Clinton Township for driving while license suspended. She is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Baseball equipment stolen

A resident on the 22000 block fo Sunnyside called police Sept. 2 after someone stole a duffle bag of baseball equipment from a her backyard patio. The resident reported seeing a person wearing a black hoodie running from the yard and fleeing in a brown Jeep Cherokee.
