Police Blotter: Seniors Robbed at Gunpoint Near New York Deli

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

St. Clair Shores police are investigating a report of an armed robbery Oct. 3 near the New York Deli.

According to police reports, a couple, both 81, left the restaurant about 6 p.m. and were entering their car parked in the nearby Assembly of God church lot.

As the woman was getting in the car, she felt something poke at her right arm. She told police she saw a black male, about 20-years-old with a thin build and wearing black shirt and pants, carrying a silver handgun.

He demanded that she give him her purse. After she complied, he reportedly pointed the gun at her husband and threatened to shoot him. The huband handed over his wallet and the supect fled in a black SUV with chrome wheels, possibly an Expedition or Suburban, according to police
