Police Blotter: Attempted Home Invasion

Attempted home invasion

Police are investigating a report of an attempted home invasion Sept. 19 of a home in the 19600 block of Avalon. The homeowner reported someone attempted to enter the home through a window.

A 60-year-old St. Clair Shores woman was arrested Sept. 20 after she allegedly attempted to steal items from the Magic Touch Salon. Janice Berry is alleged to have placed an emery board in her waist band, and three bottles of nail polish in her front pocket. She is charged with retail fraud, and is free on a $2,000, or 10 percent, bond. At her arraignment Friday in 40th District Court, Judge Mark Fratarcangeli also ordered that she not return to the salon if she posted bail.

A 47-year-old Detroit resident reported Sept. 19 a case of road rage on Interstate 94. The man was driving a van on I-94 in the entrance lane from eastbound I-696 approaching 10 Mile reported that the driver of a 2012 Chrysler 200 tossed a cup at the front of the van. The driver of the car, described as a male with dark hair, clean shaven and wearing dress clothes, then threw a cup holder at the front of the van, which damaged the windshield and grill of the van.
